These are my own Scherenschnitte patterns. They are made available for your use *PROVIDED* you 1. Contact me by comments or email to let me know you would like to use them and 2. Let me know if you are going to be posting images of cuttings made from them online or publishing images of your cuttings made from them in magazines or books. I retain all rights for reproduction or distribution of these patterns.
I spend a lot of time in creating and refining these patterns. Also, I pay a pretty penny to host this site... and the downloading of these patterns ate a fair chunk of my bandwidth. A little bit of a warm fuzzy in return was a very small price for such a flexible license.
Despite this, I got at least 30 people a day trolling around the patterns on my site. This would be wonderful except for the fact that I have only had 5 people email me or comment in the last year I had them up here.
I have been working toward a way to offer these patterns easily for everyone
interested... but with a little way for me to be able to know who was using
them (in a general warm fuzzy sense... not an information gathering sense).
the answer I came up with was to transfer them to a Yahoo group.
this allows me to see when someone checks them out... but also automates
much of the process and lets you see all the patterns to pick from. one of
the main problems I had with emailing the patterns to interested parties was
that all the patterns together was a very large file (even zipped)... but
how to know which files to send.
I have also been working on standardizing and refining my patterns so that
they are easier to work with. I have been converting them all to transparent
.Gifs so that they can be printed without wasted space from a print
program. I've also been standardizing them to 300 DPI so that they can be
sized as you wish without lose of detail.
