catching up a little bit…

i’ve been remiss in posting things as i complete them lately. we’ve been very busy with family events and time just seems to slip away from me… here are a few of them from the recent past…

Happy Birthday Banner

the Happy Birthday banner i made for Paul for his birthday. you really need to click over and view the large image to see this well. it is all done with scrapbooking papers collaged and sewn together (with cardstock sandwiched between front and back layers for strength). because i used a metallic paint for the lettering, it was extremely hard to photograph well. also, it hung across the opening between the kitchen and dinning room… so the background was really cluttered and i had to take it out so that the banner could actually be seen well, lol.

Wintersmith

well, on saturday Paul and i will be going to a book signing for Terry Pratchett’s new book, Wintersmith. i was inspired by the book to create a scherenschnitte cutting… i will be giving it to Terry then (and crossing my fingers he doesn’t think i’m some obsessed freak fan! lol)
