gifts for Kim’s shower. silver rattle, newborn umbilical cord hat, and photo album.all 3 cousins (sisters) had baby showers this year. all 3 got hats, rattles, and albums… i wish i had gotten photos of the other 2 sets.

my MIL and SIL both have made this bag before and i have been coveting it…
this was my first experience felting. this was also my largest finished knitted project so far. i’ve done hats and scarves, etc… and i have a cabled sweater in progress but this counts as the biggest finished. i took the opportunity to learn to knit continental style while working on all those knit knit knit rounds.
the embellished detail was a complete experiment. i thought i knew what would happen when i felted (and i was right!) but i hadn’t seen anything like it… so it was a complete leap of faith!
the vine detail was backstitched (embroidered) onto the bag after I finished knitting, but before felting.

one day, during the mad rush to make all the ornaments for christmas, I was delayed by the need to clean the house because people were coming over.
Paul called 3 times during the day to ask if I had started working on the eggs yet today… I was really getting annoyed at him for adding to the pressure!
then I did finish up with the cleaning and start on pysanky… and this is what I found!
