progress is being made on the Wild Tide Jaywalkers…

the colors were just WAY to beautiful in stockinette to let the lace pattern lose them… i’m really glad i decided to switch patterns.
i’ve just started the gusset increases. i converted the pattern to toe up with some help from the Natalia Knits version. i used the toe from the Knee High to a Grasshopper pattern. i had wanted to use that heel too, but this is my first time converting a pattern and it wasn’t working for me… so i used the heel from the You’re Putting Me On socks. i’m also planning on giving them a picot edging.
new skills learned with this sock:
- first time reinterpreting a pattern in any significant way
- second toe up sock
- new toe pattern
- toe up heel with gusset, and heel flap/turn
- magic loop 2 socks at once

YAY!
My Wild Tide is sitting here by my knitting chair with my Jaywalkers print out. I just bound off my Chevron scarf, so that’s what’s next!
I just didn’t like it with the lace pattern..seemed to chew up too much of the fabulousness that is Wild Tide.
Glad to see yours!
I’ve read a few blogs where there is strong sentiment for using another pattern for this lovely yarn. I’m thinking of doing the pattern in plain stockinette, since my yarn is still in “time out” for being too large.
Your socks are stunning! The colors and the way it lines up with the pattern are just jaw dropping! I wish that I could make mine turn out so well!
Oh how I wish I had made Jaywalkers with this beautiful yarn!! You were very wise to make the pattern switch – they are going to be beautiful!
Thank you for sharing these photos of your sock. I have been holding out for a peek at a different pattern to use with my Wild Tide. I will use this one. I like how it displays the colors so nicely. Now, if mine come out as nicely, I’ll be thrilled.
Which size needles did you use for these?
Thank You all! i’m in love with how the colors are coming out too!
Jen – i am using size 1 Addi Turbo Lace needles (47 inch cable) for these. they are coming out a perfect fit so far.
